A scratching surface, shaped for your home.
Give your cat a dedicated place to stretch and scratch. ScratchShield is a self-adhesive fibre mat you can trim for a suitable furniture panel, cat-tree platform or scratching area.
Measure. Trim. Place.
- Cut-to-fit design: shape the mat around your chosen area.
- Adhesive backing: no separate glue is needed for placement on a compatible surface.
- Textured fibre: create or refresh a designated scratching surface.

Refresh their favourite corner
Use a measured piece to cover a worn cat-furniture surface or create a scratching area where your cat already likes to spend time. It is a flexible material for your own setup, rather than a rigid scratching board.

Install with care
- Check that the intended surface is suitable. Test a small hidden area first.
- Clean the surface and let it dry fully.
- Measure and trim the mat before peeling the backing.
- Position carefully, then press firmly and check that the edges are secure before your cat uses it.
Important: adhesive may leave residue or affect delicate finishes. Compatibility and clean removal are not guaranteed. Avoid valuable or delicate furniture unless you have confirmed suitability.
Your questions, answered
Will it stop all scratching on my sofa?
No mat can guarantee a change in your cat’s behaviour. Offer an inviting designated scratching spot and encourage use. Results depend on your cat and where you place it.
Can I cut it to a smaller shape?
Yes. Measure your surface and trim the material before removing the adhesive backing. Keep scissors and offcuts away from pets.
Is it safe for every fabric or painted surface?
No. Test the adhesive in a hidden area first. Avoid fragile finishes and inspect the placement regularly. Removal may leave residue or damage the underlying surface.
How do I maintain it?
Remove loose hair and debris, inspect the edges and replace the mat when worn or loose. Remove loose fibres and prevent your cat from chewing or swallowing the material.
